Terms of Service

1. Who these terms are with

References to “we”, “us”, and “LangBrainsAI” mean the operator of langbrains.in. You can reach us at support@langbrains.in.

2. Accepting these terms

By using this website, creating an account, or calling the translation API, you agree to these terms. If you do not agree to them, please do not use the service. If you are using the service on behalf of an organisation, you confirm you have authority to bind that organisation to these terms.

3. Eligibility

You must be at least 18 years old to create an account or purchase credits. If you are under 18 you may not open an account or make a purchase. You agree to provide accurate information when you sign up and to keep it current.

4. What the service is

LangBrainsAI provides an English to Kannada translation API. The service is in a preview stage. It is offered as it stands, and we do not promise any particular level of availability, accuracy, or fitness for a purpose.

Output may be wrong

Machine translation produces errors, and this applies to our output as much as to anyone else’s. Do not rely on translations from this service for anything where a mistake could cause harm, loss, or legal consequence — for example medical, legal, financial, security, or safety-critical material — without independent human review by someone qualified to give it.

Chat is not part of this service

These terms and the prices on our pricing page cover the translation API only. Access to the Vajram KN-1 chat model is not included and will be governed by separate terms when it becomes available.

5. Your account

You are responsible for everything done through your account and for keeping your sign-in credentials and API keys confidential. Because an API key can spend your credits, treat it like a password: keep it server-side, never put it in a browser or mobile app, and revoke it from your dashboard if it may have been exposed. Tell us promptly at support@langbrains.in if you believe your account has been used without your permission.

6. Credits and payment

Access beyond the free monthly allowance is bought with prepaid credits.

• Credits are money held on your account, not a number of tokens. Usage is charged against that balance at the rates published on our pricing page at the time of the request.
• There are two ways to buy credit. Buying a plan adds the plan’s price as credit and sets the rates and limits that plan publishes. Adding API credit adds the amount as credit and changes nothing else. Per-token APIs are charged from the same balance either way.
• Credits do not expire. They are not a subscription and there is nothing to cancel.
• A free monthly allowance of 1,000 tokens applies to every account, is used before any paid credit, and resets each calendar month. It does not carry over.
• Prices are shown exclusive of GST. We are not currently registered for GST and do not charge it. If we register, applicable tax will be added at checkout and a tax invoice issued.
• Payments are processed by Razorpay. We do not receive or store your card, UPI, or bank credentials.
• We may change our prices. A change never alters credits you have already bought; it applies to purchases made after the change.

7. Refunds

A credit purchase is refundable only if no API requests have been made on the account. Once any request has been made — including one paid for by the free monthly allowance rather than by the credit being refunded — the purchase is non-refundable, because the service has been delivered.

8. Acceptable use

You agree not to:

• use the service for anything unlawful, infringing, or harmful, or to translate content you do not have the right to submit;
• attempt to bypass usage limits, quotas, or rate limits, or create multiple accounts to obtain additional free allowances;
• resell, sublicense, or rebrand the service without a written agreement with us;
• probe, scan, or attempt to breach the service’s security, or access it other than through the documented API;
• reverse engineer, extract, or attempt to reconstruct the model weights, or use the service to build a competing translation model;
• submit content that is illegal, sexually exploitative of minors, or intended to facilitate serious harm.

We may suspend or close an account that breaches these terms. We will normally tell you why.

9. Your content and our intellectual property

You keep ownership of the text you submit. You grant us only the licence needed to process it and return a translation, and to keep the usage records described in our Privacy Policy. We do not use your submitted text to train models unless you give us written permission.

The service itself — including the LangBrainsAI and Vajram KN-1 names, the website, and our model weights — remains ours. Nothing in these terms transfers any of it to you. Our model weights are private and are not open source.

10. Availability and changes to the service

This is a preview service. Features, plans, prices, and limits may change, and the service may be interrupted or withdrawn. Where a change would remove something you have already paid for, we will give reasonable notice and, if we cannot provide it, refund affected credit.

11. Limitation of liability

To the extent permitted by law, we are not liable for indirect, incidental, or consequential loss, lost profits, lost business, or loss of data, however arising. Where we are liable, our total liability is limited to the amount you paid us in the twelve months before the event giving rise to the claim.

Nothing in these terms excludes or limits liability that cannot be excluded or limited under applicable Indian law.

12. Indemnity

You agree to indemnify us against claims, losses, and reasonable costs arising from your breach of these terms or your unlawful use of the service, including claims relating to content you submitted.

13. Suspension and termination

You may stop using the service at any time. We may suspend or terminate access for a breach of these terms, or where we are required to by law. If we terminate without cause, we will refund any unused credit, subject to the Refund Policy. Note that we do not yet offer a self-service way to delete an account; write to us and we will handle it.

14. Your rights as a consumer

Nothing in these terms affects rights you have under the Consumer Protection Act, 2019 or any other law that cannot be contracted out of. Where these terms conflict with such a right, that right prevails.

15. Grievance officer

Complaints about the service or its content may be sent to our grievance officer, who will acknowledge them and aim to resolve them within the timelines required by applicable Indian law.

16. Governing law and jurisdiction

These terms are governed by the laws of India. Subject to any right you have to bring a claim elsewhere, the courts at [CITY, STATE], India have exclusive jurisdiction.

17. Changes to these terms

We may update these terms. The “last updated” date will change, and material changes will be announced on this site or by email to account holders before they take effect. Continuing to use the service after a change means you accept the updated terms.
